The Resinosa Ensemble was founded in 2016, united by a shared passion for intimate chamber music, collaborations with living composers, and presenting repertoire that ventures off the beaten path.
A recipient of a Maine Arts Commission grant to commission and record a seven-song cycle by Maine composer Dan Sonenberg, the ensemble is a dedicated advocate for 21st-century music.
Resinosa has appeared on numerous chamber music series and concert stages, including Colby College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, the Eastport Arts Center, the University of Southern Maine, the University of Maine at Augusta, the Back Cove Contemporary Music Festival in Portland, and the Piano by Nature concert series in Elizabethtown, New York.
Comprised of Maine-based musicians Joëlle Morris, mezzo-soprano; Eliza Meyer, cello; and Bridget Convey, piano, the Resinosa Ensemble is committed to commissioning new works and creating imaginative programs that pair contemporary music with overlooked gems from the past.
The ensemble has collaborated with American composers Tom Flaherty, Justin Henry Rubin, Paul Rudoi, Scott Wheeler, Beth Wiemann, and Josh Jandreau. Its commissioning projects have included new works by Maine composers Dan Sonenberg, John Newell, Nancy Gunn, Phil Carlsen, and Rick Nelson.
